  • The projects we develop in the four hydrocarbon basins in the country significantly contribute to domestic production of oil and gas. We have become one of the leaders in the responsible development of energy in Argentina.
  • In the Golfo San Jorge Basin, we operate Cerro Dragón, the largest oilfield in the country, where we drill between 150 and 200 wells per year, in an area covering 3,500 km2.
  • We operate six blocks in the Neuquina Basin, the hub for the development of unconventional reservoirs. There we conduct exploration, delineation, pilot and development projects in the Vaca Muerta and Grupo Cuyo formations.
  • In the Noroeste Basin we operate the Macueta and San Pedrito gasfields, which position us as an international leader, having overcome the geological and environmental challenges posed by the forests in the area.
  • In the Marina Austral Basin, we are part of the consortium that operates the only offshore development in the country.
  • We contribute 18% of the hydrocarbon produced, as well as 20% of the oil and 16% of the gas produced in the country.

  • After the Energy Reform undertaken by the Mexican administration, Hokchi Energy, a subsidiary of Pan American Energy, became the first private company to perform shallow-waters drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico and the first company to generate revenues for the Mexican Government as a result of a joint production agreement.
  • We have operated the Hokchi block since 2016, where the drilling campaign, as committed during the evaluation plan, was completed in 2017. This year, the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) approved a USD 2.5 billion Development Plan which aims to produce 147.832 mbbl y 45.418 mmpc of gas.
  • Moreover, in 2018 the company won the bid to develop Area 31, located in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico's Southeast Basin, and we were part of the consortium that won Area 34, located in the same Basin.

    WE UNDERTOOK THE LARGEST REFINING PROJECT OF THE LAST 30 YEARS IN ARGENTINA Expansion and Modernization Pan American Energy Group We are expanding and modernizing our refinery in Campana, in the province of Buenos Aires, with an estimated total investment of 1.5 billion dollars. Thanks to this project, we will increase petrol and diesel fuel oil production by 60%, we will take our refining capacity from 90 kdb to 120 kdb, we will improve our energy efficiency, and we will reduce gas emissions.

Garayalde Wind Farm

Located in Argentina, in the province of Chubut, the wind farm will be powered with 25 MW and will generate 90,000 MWh/year, which will be able to power 20,000 homes per year as of 2018.
